As I (Karen–it’s usually me writing these bloggy-things) sit here at my parents’ house, my folks are getting all fancied up in nice suits and heading out to teach classes for their respective businesses. It makes me wish that I was headed out to teach, too! It’s good to know that I will be soon–but when, and where, and what exactly will I be teaching? Well, that’s up to folks who want to take classes with us: we‘re looking for input on which class topics to offer and when via our Summer Gardening Class Survey.

Both of my parents have been in business long enough that their command of their areas of expertise are quite well-known, and they’re often sought out as presenters. My mom’s most popular class: teaching local employers to recognize the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol misuse. My dad is presenting today on facility-wide medical coding at a healthcare financial management conference here in town. (A little bit different from what we do, eh?!) Anyway, while we don’t expect to be sought out as experts as frequently as they are just yet–we haven’t been in business, like my parents, for 24 years–we do like to teach, and we like to learn…which is, of course, one of the best perks of teaching.

So, if you have the chance, please fill out the Survey and let us know which topics and times are best for you, and please pass it on to anyone else you think could use a helping hand in the garden. It will be fun to get all gussied up in my Carhartts and uniform tee–no suit for me!–to hold another round of classes.

In the meantime, the last of our current slate of offerings are listed on our Classes page, and we’ve still got spots open… We’d love to have you join us!
